Twilio takes Branded Calling international with a UK, Canada, and Germany beta

Twilio has expanded Branded Calling into public beta across the UK, Canada, and Germany, building on its US rollout. The pitch is the familiar one: replace anonymous digits with a verified Business Display Name on the recipient’s device, delivered through Twilio’s “Voice Trust” layer and integrated natively with its Programmable Voice and Elastic SIP Trunking. The framing leans on Hiya’s State of the Call 2026 figure that 87% of consumers are unlikely to answer calls from numbers they don’t recognize.
This is one more entry in the carrier-by-carrier, country-by-country map of branded-calling rollout, and the map is the interesting artifact — the display-name layer is quietly becoming table stakes across the CPaaS vendors. Twilio all but concedes as much (“delivering a display name is becoming an industry standard”), which reframes the competition around execution and ecosystem lock-in rather than the feature itself. Worth cross-referencing against the other vendors’ rollout claims as the branded-calling footprint fills in outside the US, and against whether verified caller identity actually moves the answer-rate numbers the pitch promises.
