The FCC's July meeting carries an FNPRM on the Robocall Mitigation Database

Communications Daily reports that the FCC’s July open-meeting agenda includes a Further NPRM on the Robocall Mitigation Database — alongside a 2027 upper C-band auction, expanded Covered List rules, and an order relaxing broadband-label requirements.

The RMD is the registry every voice provider must certify into, and it’s been the soft underbelly of the whole robocall-mitigation regime: self-attested, unevenly policed, and full of thin or outright bogus filings. An FNPRM signals the Commission wants to tighten what a certification actually has to contain — and what happens when it turns out to be false. That’s the upstream-diligence story (KYUP, provider responsibility) moving from enforcement one-offs toward codified database rules.
