Truecaller's Global Insights report tallies 68 billion spam and fraud calls

Truecaller has published its first Global Insights Report since 2021, and the headline number is stark: 68 billion spam and fraud calls identified globally in 2025. Indonesia tops the ranking, where 79% of all calls from unknown numbers were spam or fraud — nearly four in five — followed by Chile (70%, up from 51% in just six months), Vietnam, Brazil, and India.
Truecaller frames this as “the machine era of spam” — automated fraud at a scale it says it has never seen. The usual methodology caveat applies to any single app’s vantage point, but the directional data is a useful reference for robocall- and robotext-volume discussions. The country breakdown is also a reminder that the spam-and-fraud problem is far more acute outside the U.S. than the STIR/SHAKEN-centric domestic conversation tends to assume.
That it’s the first report “since 2021” is itself the tell: the volumes got bad enough to start counting again.
